A Military Beret

 A friend used this beret as part of a Royal Air Force costume before being passed on to me.

The hat badge says RA which could be Royal Artillery not R.A.F., however, I can't seem to find a clear answer. 

The nearest I can find is WW1 badge

Naval Officers Cap

This Royal Navy Officer cap was gifted so not sure of its origin 

The crown is made from waterproof cotton and comes with a plastic peak

It also sports an embodied bullion badge on the front

Naval Beret

The dark blue beret is complete with Queen's crown naval officer's badge. 

Somebody said do you need a hat, well I could have said no I have plenty but then again 1 more why not.

Bucket Hat

 A Bucket Hat 

A bush hat is similar to a bucket hat but has a stiffer brim.

A bush hat is a form of wide-brim hat commonly used by military forces

Also known as a Boonie hat by Americans  

 The hat as a fabric tape band of loops is sewn around the hat's crown. This ring is meant to hold additional vegetation/foliage as camouflage. 

Complete with vented crown

Brim up or Brim down, I think with the brim up you will gather a nice puddle in the rain to tip on friends.

Maroon Beret

 This beret is deep maroon red.

Maroon berets are associated with Airbourne forces.

I found this hat in a giveaway box, it was quickly claimed by me, after all, collecting hats is what I do.

The original badge has been removed and replaced with a piece of yellow fabric.

Green Kepi

This Kepi came out of the £5 box of a trader trying to get shut of old stock

Green Kepi like the blue seems to have been used by the Union army in the American Civil War.

 My quick bit of research says green was associated with units of sharpshooters or foragers.

Looking at photos online its seems to be a reasonable reproduction of the original caps.

Morion Helmet

The Morion helmet is from the 16th and 17th Centuries. Also known in England as the pikeman's pot.

The crest along the top is designed to strengthen the helmet, its normally open face and wide-brimmed and from periods when gunpowder weapons were coming into common use.

Later versions added cheek and neck guards to protect against sword swings at the head.

In England, it is associated with the New Model Army, one of the first professional militaries. It was worn mainly by pikemen, although unarmoured musketeers also adopted it.

It's also commonly associated with the Spanish Conquistadors and the conquest of the Inca's by the Spanish. 

As well as the exploration of much of America's, several were found in Jamestown

The morion is still used by some ceremonial military units such as the guards of the Vatican

This copy is a fibreglass so purely decorative and not suitable for battle reenactment, but good lrp and theatre.

Russian Headgear

This is sold as Russian Tank commanders hat or helmet

A quick bit of research would suggest however its a paratroopers helmet worn by the airborne division of Russian Army during parachute drops. The Russian airborne division is heavily mechanised and they do drop vehicles with people inside them unlike most other armies, so perhaps it's both.

I normally consider helmets as a rigid head covering, this one, however, is a soft helmet, heavily padded in the ribs to protect you against impacts with hard surfaces.

The helmet is not mine and normally left at the entry stair to the owner's attic room which has many low beams so is ideal headwear.

Cossack Hat

This is a Russian army cossack hat

Made from sheepskin, this tall cylinder of fur is joined at the top with a fabric circle emblem.

This hat is also known as a Papakha in Russia however there are two different styles of Papakha, this one is the Papaha, the other is the Kubanka which is a shorter version, but basically the same.

The Cossacks were an independent nation which got integrated into the Russian nation, not in a good way, so the Cossack army fought against Russia, for Russia, played both sides, helped and hindered the Germans WWII, helped and hindered the Americans in WWII, helped the British fight communism and much more.

The Cossack Army ceased to exist after World war II, however, a law was passed just before the end of 20th Century as the Soviet Union ended allowing Cossack to exist again and they now deal with local Administration.
