Balaclava

.A Balaclava is also called a Ski mask

Originally a knitted wool item they are now made of any stretchy material that will keep you warm and make the Balaclava fit snugly to the head and neck

Designed to cover the whole head and neck, exposing only eyes, nose and mouth (most of the time) it's designed for maximum warmth in cold conditions

The name Balaclava comes from the battle of Balaclava which took place in the Crimean war in 1854. They were never actually worn in the war as, despite the need by British troop fighting in the bitter cold, the headgear never arrived in time. Still, the name stuck.

The Balaclava was also known in the 19th century as the Uhlan cap worn by Polish and Prussian soldiers

Ninja Hood

 I call this a Ninja hood, but not sure what it really is or where it came from, I think it's actually a Halloween horror mask.

The hood has a mesh net sewn in over the face and the rim around the mesh put the rest of your face in shadow.

Which is easy to see out of but hides the identity of the face behind it.

Not only that the black hood with the mesh darkening your face make you invisible in the dark when combined with other black clothing.

So ideal for raiding an oriental castle on a moonless night.

Executioner

The hood is black and menacing and should scare anyone into thinking about not committing a crime.

The face is hidden so if you didn't like me chopping the head off your family member you won't know who I am to get your revenge later.

I'm a professional its my job, I'm the Headsman and when I'm not chopping off heads I will turn my hand to torture or other non lethal but painful punishments.

Its the law, you broke it, your punishment was judged by others, it is my job to execute the sentence.

I also love flower arranging and puppies.

It should be said that the executioners hood is a Hollywood creation, executioners hoods in British history at least are a myth, in fact executioners were celebrities in medieval times. 

In the 19th Century executioners did wear eye mask as executions ceased to be spectacles and came to be considered as regrettable but necessary tragedies.
