Helicopter Hat

When you need to get somewhere quick you need a helicopter hat.

Powered by humour this hat will get you where you need to be as quick as you can walk, run or drive with the hat on, in fact, if you wore it on a plane you would travel as fast as the plane.

A rainbow-coloured baseball cap, it comes with a small plastic propeller held in place by several beads and wire.

A party hat, although I saw a lot Googley people wearing one in the film 'The Internship'

Less Distressed Cap

This baseball cap is a lot less distressed than the last one

This hat was sprayed with carpet glue and then rolled around in anything that might stick to it.

Looking at it now, it needs a lot more work, it still looks like a new hat that's got a bit mucky

White spray paint to seams and edges places that might wear and fade and then some sanding I think.

Distressed Baseball Cap

This is basic blue baseball cap purchased for £3 pounds

I then distressed to make it look well used for a post-apocalypse environment

Now there are lots of online videos teaching you how to distress items, from dragging behind cars to burying in the mud for 6 months.

But the easiest and quickest way is a mixture of spray paint and coarse sandpaper.

and then just rub in the dirt, possible while the paint is still wet.

Colourful Hat

This is what you call a busker cap, basically a baseball cap which has a pillbox shaped crown rather than the normal domed crown.

This was Christmas present which I yet to wear other than in the photos here, its always a problem when you have more than a few hundred to choose from.

The lemons also came as Christmas gift the same year and seem to go with the very colourful hat, also suiting the colourful top I'm wearing.

Work Hat

With 30 years working for the same company, I got a new company hat this week.

A good quality baseball cap in our company colours.

Pictures of me at work, or just after a presentation for 30 years which got me a couple cards, a present or 2, a nice letter from the big boss and a bunch of flowers.

Oh no not another baseball cap

The baseball cap, probably the most common modern hat after the beanie

I only have half a dozen, some really good ones, most like this holiday memorabilia.

Docker Cap

A docker cap is a mix of a beanie hat and skull cap, with perhaps a bit of baseball cap thrown in.

Docker caps got their name from the dockers in the early part of the 20th century that wore them. Later they were adopted by sailors and other manual workers such as builders.
Now they are considered more of a bohemian headgear.

They are a soft hat that fits the shape of the head, they should not come lower than the ears, they don't have a brim or peak but do have a turned up edge around the circumference of the crown.

They are usually made of 6 to 8 panels of fabric such as wool, cotton or leather, but they can also be knitted, the panel ones also tend to have the same button on the crown like a baseball cap.

This one also has an adjustable band like a baseball cap.

Desert Hat

This hat is designed for hot, dry, dusty places.

It comes with lots of ventilation, all round detachable sun high UV sun protection, a large bill brim.

 Lightweight and easily pocketable

The only downside is you may look the most stylish person out in the desert, however, you may get the last laugh when the high sun hits and even high factor sun cream does not stop your skin crisping in the UV rays.
