 A Bucket Hat 

A bush hat is similar to a bucket hat but has a stiffer brim.

A bush hat is a form of wide-brim hat commonly used by military forces

Also known as a Boonie hat by Americans  

 The hat as a fabric tape band of loops is sewn around the hat's crown. This ring is meant to hold additional vegetation/foliage as camouflage. 

Complete with vented crown

Brim up or Brim down, I think with the brim up you will gather a nice puddle in the rain to tip on friends.

Mozi Hat

A camouflage bucket hat with a net hanging from the brim

Designed for the jungle/swamp to stop you getting bitten by bitey insects, especially mosquitoes.

Not living near a mosquito-infested area it's not of practical use for me, but knowing how rubbish mosquito relevant chemicals are, this has got to be a far better solution.

At the midpoint of the net is a nice ring which helps keep the net away from your face and provides weight to keep it down and the bottom edge is a tighter section to stop mozzies get in under the net.

 I found this going cheap on an auction site, so snapped it up.

Sun Hat Plus

This is a nylon bucket hat that comes complete with extra sun protection. 

The hat comes with a detachable flap neck for the neck and face, along with the wide brim it fully protects your neck, face, head from the sun.

This hat would probably most suited to desert environments I think as its both lightweight and airy.

The face mask is made of a breathable mesh and a similar breathable crown, probably won't offer much rain protection.

Below with the neck and face flaps removed.

It also compacts down to a size that fits your trouser pocket.

Bucket Hat

A couple of laces make thus old bucket hat really useful in the wind.

Bucket hats probably started has practical fishemens hat in some oiled fabric, but were adopted has fashion hats in the 1960's.

Also known as session hat, fisherman's hat, or Irish country hat.

I've had this hat for a least 27 years as went with me to Thailand 1989 as can be seen in the photos below

My taste in clothing has got a little duller since this photo below with the very sun burnt legs to match the shorts.

The Cork Hat

This tourist only gift hat was brought back from Australia by my globe trotting mother about 10 years ago.

A basic bucket hat with corks dangling from the rim in theory to keep away blow flies from Australians as they travelled through the Outback, I'm sure it works to some extent.

The Cork Hat has been relegated to a novelty item.

The original cork hats had the corks dangling from a slouch hat or bush hat which is proper stiff brimmed felt hat.
